Equity benchmarks remained marginally higher amid volatility. The Sensex was up 68.94 points at 28667.97 and the Nifty up 38.90 points at 8818.75.
About 1483 shares advanced against 1200 declining shares on the BSE.
Oil prices rose over 1 percent, Brent crude futures were at USD 46.40 per barrel, up 1.3 percent, from their previous settlement. US crude was up 1.63 percent, at USD 43.73 a barrel.
